Office Planning Report

Planning your office? Some points to consider…

1. Start with a clean sheet.

If you are planning to move or refurbish your current offices, don’t underestimate the positive impact this can have on your business. It is a great opportunity to dump the excess baggage and to start afresh. And with this in mind you really need to approach the project with an open mind.

Banish preconceived ideas; just because that’s the way it has always been done, doesn’t mean it’s the best way. You need to take a step back and question everything. Sometimes we are so involved in our day to day business that we fail to see the obvious.

Take this opportunity to consider and review all office functions and activities including your current and future requirements for I.T. and telephony.

Consider each department. Consider its function and location and how it interacts with other departments. Consider the proximity of complementary functions. Are you set up for maximum efficiency and productivity? Optimise the office space you have.

Don’t approach the project half heartedly thinking that you can bring in the changes later, because the chances are that you won’t.

Remember the objectives. Not only do you want a new office that functions efficiently but you want one that tells everyone who sets foot in it that this is the heart of a company that is going places. And the message is to be made loud and clear to everyone who walks through the front door into your reception.
